It does hark back to the brain-twisters of Hartnell's stories - I was reminded of "The Edge of Destruction" and "The Celestial Toyroom". Not to say this ep was a copy - oh, no, this was a tale that reminded me of them. Of course, the key point of the story is about Amy's choice, in a funny kind of way. That was the obvious thing, but the others had choices, too.
But it was really about dreams: how they work, perhaps, and how we don't really know that much about them. I liked the way it knocked the Doctor about, that it was Amy again who realised... except... well. That is a massive spoiler.
Did anyone else spot what the Old People's Home was called. Sarn. Neat.
